Some days are made for staying in. And some days, the clouds arrive and you go out anyway.

It was an overcast morning in late May when we drove out to Dumulmeori — the place where two rivers meet, where the water is wide and the willows lean over the edge of everything. It’s one of those places that doesn’t need good weather to be beautiful. If anything, the grey sky made it quieter.

We walked slowly along the water. There were a few other people, but not many. The kind of morning where you can hear your own footsteps.
After the walk, we stopped at Yangsu Tteokjip — a small local restaurant nearby that’s been serving traditional rice cake dishes for years. Nothing fancy. The kind of place with worn wooden tables and food that tastes like it was made by someone who has been making it for a long time.

We ordered simply. Ate slowly. Watched the street outside through the window.
On the drive home, the clouds were still there. But something felt lighter.
This is what a slow day looks like here — not empty, just unhurried.
