Small details deserve
careful records.

Sapmanri is an independent journal about life in a small village in Gapyeong, Korea. We write from lived experience: the food we prepare, the places we visit, the objects we make, and the routines that help us keep an ordinary day.

What we publish

Every note should have a clear reason to exist. A personal essay should offer a specific observation rather than a generic mood. A practical note should explain what we actually tried, what materials or conditions mattered, and what did not work. A place note should distinguish our own visit from general travel information.

Original work and sources

Our writing and photographs are original unless a credit says otherwise. We do not republish scraped articles or use another publisher's text as filler. When a note relies on an external source, we link to it and separate that research from our own experience.

Translation and writing tools

Writing and translation tools may help us organise drafts or prepare an English edit. They do not replace the source notes, photographs, or the person who lived the experience. Before publication, we check names, places, dates, claims, and practical instructions against our records. We remove invented details and do not present generated text as first-hand experience.

Advertising, affiliate links, and collaborations

If advertising, affiliate links, sponsorship, or a gifted product becomes part of a note, we will say so near the relevant recommendation. Payment will not buy a favourable conclusion. We keep editorial decisions separate from advertising decisions.

Updates and corrections

We update a note when a method, link, place, or fact has materially changed. If an important error is found, we correct it and add a short note explaining the change when readers could otherwise be misled. Questions and correction requests can be sent to hello@sapmanri.com.
